 In a compelling session at the TGIS Toastmasters club, Manoj Vasudevan, DTM, the World Champion of Public Speaking as recognized by Toastmasters International in 2017, shared invaluable insights on effective public speaking. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Division C127 Director Sowmya Shetty, Club President Abdullah Gurukkal, VPEd Radhika Daga, and Area C9 Director Khaleejan Abdul Vaheed.

According to Vasudevan, the key to achieving success as a public speaker is to embrace every opportunity to address an audience and adopt a simple yet powerful strategy: "Book your speech and write your speech." While many individuals, including leaders and professionals, often aim for perfection in preparing their speeches, Vasudevan stressed the importance of promptly seizing speaking opportunities. He asserted that by making a commitment to speak and staying true to that commitment, the speech would naturally come together.

Vasudevan challenged the common practice of waiting for the right time and opportunity to deliver a speech. Instead, he encouraged individuals to be prepared to take the stage confidently at any given moment. He emphasized that, while competence is crucial, confidence is paramount in achieving success as a public speaker.

During the event, President Abdullah Gurukkal received a copy of Vasudevan's book, "How to Become the World Champion of Public Speaking." In return, DTM Manoj was presented with a copy of the TGIS newsletter, "Toast To TGIS."
